US Consulate General, Nuevo Laredo, Mexico

The new US Consulate General is situated on a 5.6-acre site in eastern Nuevo Laredo. The multi- building campus includes a chancery office building, a Marine Security Guard residence, a support annex and utility building, and facilities for the Consulate community. The new Consulate campus will provide a secure, modern, and environmentally sustainable platform for diplomacy in Nuevo Laredo.

The design is inspired by the regional architecture of the Rio Grande valley that makes use of verandas and other covered volumes to create indoor/outdoor spaces. The outdoor landscape takes advantage of the local flora and fauna to include clusters of existing oak trees that will be preserved through construction.
